What is an AI drama? A plain explanation

An AI drama is a fictional series where the scenes are generated rather than shot. A language model writes the script, an image model draws the frames, a video model turns them into moving pictures with speech. No set, no crew, no actors — and no real person on screen.

The form grew out of two things that arrived at the same time: vertical short drama (ReelShort, DramaBox and the wave behind them proved that people will watch a story in one-minute episodes on a phone) and video models that can hold a face steady for fifteen seconds and let it talk.

What AI drama is good at

• Speed. A scene that would take a day to shoot takes a minute to generate.
• Branches. Because scenes are cheap, a story can fork. Every choice can have its own filmed consequence, which film could never afford before.
• Anyone can make one. The tools that used to need a studio now need a sentence.

Where it struggles

• Consistency. Video models have no memory. Unless every prompt describes the cast the same way, the lead comes back as a different person.
• Continuity. Clip two has to start where clip one ended, or the seam shows.
• Writing. Fast generation makes bad writing faster. The script still has to be good.

How UDRAMA handles it
